Natural Stone (Edging)

Edging refers to the material used to define the edge between two areas of use in the garden. That may be the flower bed from the lawn, patio, gravel path etc. On a practical level, it is sometimes crucial to use it, e.g. to retain the gravel on a pathway from drifting onto a lawn, and/or it may have a function in the design e.g. to map out the lines/ shapes in the design, or lead the eye in a desired direction.

Materials used for edging can be concrete, natural stone, timber, or metal. Costs, longevity and looks will vary with each material

Varying depth in beds suits small and large plants.

3D Drawings

Some sample drawings, some in final draft , others in blue tone, are at layout stage, where choice of material is yet to be chosen.

White Render

Instead of painting walls and raised beds, white render gives a permanent colour, some even incorporate fungicide to deter green algae discolouration.

Reclaimed brick patio

This striking urban garden has reclaimed brick as the dominant feature along with architectural planting. The herringbone pattern of the paving zigzag-ed around garden allowing pockets for the planting to creep into the gaps. Timber lattes painted black give an interesting texture to the boundaries, and also disguise an ugly wall with many […]
